Hotel Cipriani occupies a secluded estate at the eastern tip of Giudecca island — five minutes from St. Mark's Square by private hotel launch, yet entirely removed from the crowds. Founded in 1958 by Giuseppe Cipriani, creator of Harry's Bar and inventor of the Bellini, it was designed from the outset as a refuge for those who want Venice at its most beautiful without any of its inconveniences.

The grounds are extraordinary by any standard, but for Venice they are almost implausible: a vast Olympic-size outdoor saltwater pool (the only one in central Venice), manicured gardens, a tennis court, and terraces looking straight across the Basin of St. Mark's to the Doge's Palace. Architect Peter Marino oversaw a sweeping 2025 redesign that deepened the hotel's Venetian character without losing its warmth.

The Michelin-starred Oro Restaurant and the floating Cip's Club terrace are among the most coveted tables in the city.
